Sea Shepherd :: Cove Guardian situation update: Truth is stranger than fiction
It is now early in the morning of March 13 in Taiji and things are calm. No one was arrested and that is the problem. Yesterday’s events would not be believable if they were to appear in a screenplay. An angry mob of delusional delinquents managed to humble the police and control the situation.
The irony is not lost here. We do appreciate that the police put themselves in jeopardy to protect the Cove Guardians. The five Cove Guardians involved are particularly grateful. Cove Guardians are not the most likeable folks in Taiji, but the police do have the duty to enforce laws and keep the peace even if they find it disagreeable and dangerous.

I think the word IMPOTENT as regards the police in this situation…and I am certain, others, applies here…how sad!!!!!!!! and despicable!
I agree, Betty! Nevertheless, the incident has drawn even more attention to the cause. Everything they do just backfires in their faces. If they were smart, they would do nothing. The Cove Guardians and Monitors are there to raise awareness and bring attention to the slaughters. Every tactic used by the opposition has actually aided SSCS and SJD in that respect. It’s a good thing the bad guys are complete imbeciles.
